Since our escapades at The Great Escape, we have had the extreme pleasure of hosting the very talented Ideals, recent Intruder Records signings, in our studio recording their next singles. The songs are as hot as the weather has been. Summertime!
Their current single, a split single with the equally talented I Remember Tapes is out now. Get it here.
We also had the honour and privilege to work with a very fine artist who goes by the name of Meow. She’s a piano playing tambourine tapping barefoot singing sensation sure to cause a stir when the stuff is out.
And if that was not enough, we had Hudson Fall recording their debut album. The guitarist’s dad was, still is!, in The Merseybeats, one of the fab 60s bands. Musical genes! Fellow musical travelers: if you start a band in 1961, which is what Mr Crane of The Merseybeats did, and you’re still working several decades later, it constitutes for a great career. Hats off, each and everyone of you.
Our very own Esteban came in for a couple of off days from tour. A late night recording session ensued and the result was a cracking version of one of their live favourites, a track titled It’s On. A few hours of playing at night, a mix in the morning = job done. If you have it in you, you can blow it out.
We are sad to learn that the weight of the world finally did Bono’s back in. I feel for the man: the weight of squash is not only in my back every morning, it’s in every part of my body. Too much of a good thing, I guess, but as soon as I get a whiff of the courts my blood starts craving a hit. It’s mad.
Here’s a photo of our engineer Jamie from his hols…
